Summit Arena at The Monument in Rapid City will be the site for the State Competitive Cheer and Competitive Dance Championships on October 23-24, 2026. Competition will begin at 5:00 PM MT on Friday, October 23 for Class A performances. Class AA competition will begin at 11:00 AM MT on Saturday, October 24. Doors open approximately one hour prior to the start of each day’s scheduled session.
The cheer competition consists of stunting/tumbling teams. Dance competition will have three categories: pom, hip hop and jazz. Schools will be allowed to compete in a maximum of two Dance categories.
To qualify for the State Competition, each school must compete in a minimum of two competitions during the regular season. There will be a formal awards ceremony following competition on both Friday and Saturday.
